Open House Q&A Part III
Part 1: The Tough Questions: Stains, Damage & Tricky Fabrics
This section is all about managing expectations and giving you honest answers about what professional cleaning can—and sometimes can’t—achieve.
Q: Can you get out every stain?
A: This is the most important question in the industry, and the honest answer is: no one can guarantee the removal of every single stain. However, we can guarantee that we use the best equipment and processes to give us the highest possible chance of success.
Stain removal depends on many factors: the type of stain (organic, like coffee, vs. inorganic, like ink), how long it’s been there, the type of fabric, and if any DIY treatments were used. Our powerful, truck-mounted equipment provides superior heat and extraction compared to portable units, making it far more effective. We can often remove or significantly lighten stains that seem permanent, but some stains cause permanent discoloration to the carpet fibers. We will always assess the stain and give you our professional, honest opinion before we begin.
Q: My pet had an accident, and now the spot is bleached or faded. Can you fix the color?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot. When pet urine causes discoloration or a “white spot,” it has permanently altered the dye in the carpet fibers. While we can thoroughly clean, sanitize, and remove any lingering bacteria from the area, we cannot restore the color that has been chemically stripped by the accident. The same applies to bleach spills, which cause irreversible color loss.
Q: Can you clean delicate fabrics like velvet, chenille, or linen?
A: Yes, we can, but with an important note. These are beautiful but sensitive fabrics. While our cleaning process is gentle, there is an inherent risk that the texture or “feel” of these materials can change after cleaning. We cannot guarantee the final results, but we will always use the utmost care and our professional expertise to clean them safely and effectively.
Q: What about natural fiber rugs like sisal or viscose?
A: To protect your beautiful rugs, we do not clean sisal or viscose. These natural fibers are extremely susceptible to permanent damage, yellowing, and water staining when cleaned with water-based methods. They require specialized cleaning techniques that fall outside of our service offerings.
Part 2: Logistics: Booking, Payment & Preparing for Your Appointment
Here are the answers to some common questions about the practical side of our service.
Q: Do I need to pay a deposit to book an appointment?
A: We do not require a separate deposit. However, to secure your appointment time, we do require a credit card on file. The card is not charged until two days prior to your scheduled service.
Q: My appointment is for an 8 AM – 10 AM window. Does that mean you’ll be done by 10 AM?
A: That’s a great clarifying question! The timeframe we provide, such as 8 AM – 10 AM, is our arrival window. Our technicians will arrive at your home sometime within that two-hour period.
Q: I live in a high-rise. Is there anything special I need to do?
A: Yes, thank you for asking! For high-rise appointments, you will need to contact your building management to reserve the service elevator for the duration of your cleaning appointment. This ensures our team can bring in the necessary equipment efficiently.
Q: Do you move furniture?
A: We are happy to move smaller, lighter items like coffee tables, end tables, and side chairs. For liability and safety reasons, our teams do not move large or heavy items such as beds, dressers, entertainment centers, electronics, or cabinets.
Q: How can I pay for the service?
A: We offer several convenient payment options: Zelle, Venmo, cash, or any major credit card.
Part 3: Pricing & Service Clarifications
A few final points to ensure our pricing and services are perfectly clear.
Q: I only need a staircase cleaned. Can you do that?
A: Absolutely. We are happy to do smaller jobs like a single staircase. Please note, however, that our minimum charge of $149 for any service call will still apply.
Q: I have some mulch (or another unusual debris) in my carpet. Is that extra?
A: Yes, cleaning unusual or excessive debris like mulch requires extra time and labor. This would be an additional charge in addition to our standard cleaning price. The best way to get an accurate quote is to send us a quick picture of the area.
Q: Do your prices match those of other cleaning companies?
A: No, we do not. Our pricing is based on our investment in top-tier, truck-mounted equipment, our experienced technicians, and our commitment to providing a high-quality, reliable service from start to finish.
